Lost connection to my peer

Is it just paranoia or does the connection to my peer always get lost when I start to pull away or the game is sealed? It's been constant this weekend

Selten_Koenig

I often ask myself how they can rage quit so fast. I picture myself getting up off my couch and going to disconnect the Ethernet or even shutting off the game from my controller, is seems like too much of a hassle to go through

rage quit

pja003

That is a rage quit

boxcar31

Pretty sure that is a rage quit and they shut down the app.....or maybe they try to do the trick like the DC glitch to lag their internet connection....as opposed to the DC glitch when the 3 best players come up and they purposely do something to their internet connection to disconnect to get a cheap win. I did some research to see how they do it to see how I might combat it. In the case of the DC glitch they are not shutting down the app but while the app is running they are screwing with their internet connection.

Most times during the game when you get a lost connection you should still get the win. With the DC glitch though at the beginning of the game you get the loss....it ends up being a 0-0 loss. Very cheap way to get a win. I haven't found a workaround yet. Some have said to wait and you won't get the loss but it hasn't worked. I still can't believe that EA has not fixed this.

During a game though when the connection is lost, like you said usually winning or pulling away, we still usually get the win.

I didn't even know it was a thing. I thought it was innocent at first but the connection would lag on FG attempts and key moments. I don't get the mentality especially since there's not much left to play for

Now that I've never seen....the Key Moments part. We've had the connections lag but I thought that was just bad internet. That could be possible. One of my son's was watching an NBA 2K YouTuber and I guess lag switch's plague that game. The Youtuber built one to show how easy it could be done and so they could address it in that game. That's what got me going down the rabbit hole to find out how they are doing the DC glitch in Madden. The DC glitch is real and purposeful. It's very easy to do...too easy. I was trying to figure a way to combat it.

I'd never do it to anyone because it ruins the game. We've gotten burned on that many times this season. One of my kids makes it the the playoffs in H2H and gets DC glitched for the cheap loss. I wouldn't want to do that to anyone...it sucks to lose that way.

Now shutting down the App to quit happens. One of my sons does it. It's easier than to wait to concede the game. Sometimes with the animations it won't let you concede right away. Pissed off you don't want to hang around for the extra point. Frustrated after throwing a stupid pick and he hits options and close to just get out. Most (I'd say 9 times out of 10) times we get the loss when you get out that way but even we have picked a rare win when this happens.

I'd say more than likely the guys who were losing probably shut the app down in a rage quit scenerio. If guys are lag switching during a game, that is pretty pathetic.

This is the key...

Most (I'd say 9 times out of 10) times we get the loss when you get out that way but even we have picked a rare win when this happens.

...so when guys are outmatched, they shut down their game rather than concede because they're getting a 10% chance at a glitch win.

At best, it's poor sportsmanship.

boxcar31

I'd have to question to what is the intent in this scenerio?.....with the DC glitch the intent is 100% to cheat. The people who do it know how to do it know they are going to get the 0-0 win. It's a cheap way to blow through wins without actually playing the game.

Rage quitting and shutting down the app is often a thing in frustration and maybe little patience in that scenerio. My oldest kid does it. He had a crappy game, done playing, doesn't want to sit through the remaining animation. I've gotten a little frustrated myself trying to concede. Like I end up having to play an additional play and let them hit the extra point until I can concede...but I'm older. I put up with it.

I never really thought of it the way you put it as it's a rare occurrence when we get the win. You don't expect it. I actually feel bad the other guy got the loss. I can tell you that in watching my son play (who has actually gotten pretty good - better than me) the intent is more out of frustration and not trying to work a glitch. It's a rare payoff if that indeed is the case since most times you are taking an L. Nevertheless, you have a point and I'll have a talk with him about the shutting down the app instead of conceding....kids. He also doesn't play WL where it gets more competitive. He just plays H2H and doesn't really care about the rewards. I'm the GM of the team.

Honestly... I hate it when my opponent shuts down rather than concedes. First... I'm always concerned that I'll get the L. This used to happen way more often but like you said... it's probably less than 10% of the time these days. Secondly... it inconveniences me in that I have to back all the way out to the main menu then go back into WL or Seasons. Granted it's a minor inconvenience, but I can't see why my opponent can't just use the concede function.

I usually just chalk it up to kids doing things that kids do. But there are plenty of so called adults that "rage quit" as well. Seems silly to me.

iceberglb5129

the Key Moments part happened to me, I mean in each WL so far.. like yesterday I was up 7-0 in the first and when I got the ball back the lagging started and right after I snap the ball the lagging started and I threw the worst pick of the weekend... I got the check if I recorded it so I can send it to you... give me a couple of minutes...

gator27

I was kicking a FG to go up 2 scores. Game lagged right at the snap. Horrible miss. Never happened any other time. A couple of other times in different games I turned the ball over on downs or had to punt. I won all three games this occurred so it's not an excuse. Ive since noticed it never happens when I'm losing

I'm new to MUT this year. Only started playing because of covid. It's been fun but a time sink lol. I've only played maybe 30 WL games. Ran into the infamous near close flex a few times. Don't understand if you quit then just concede.

ollever99

They want to disconnect glitch you. Happened to me every weekend

Ballsy

Maybe they unplugged their console
