High overall kickers are externally useful for offense(especially with good boosts and/or neutralizes), but for defense you wanna avoid the touch back so lower kick power is a must. Swap your kicker as needed. KR is the most important special teamer imo, because he can help mitigate fumbles/muffs on kickoff. Punter and punt returner are 100% stat sticks.

Which is better? Does having running coaches in tilt it in tosses favor?  I keep getting crushed by MLB just short on uncountered spacing... What do you guys think?

In the Nfl, the best teams score 2.5+ points per drive. In Madden mobile it's closer to 6 or 7.  People are crying constantly because EA tries things to make defenses able to slow down the offenses. It's the same with drops, superman dlines, pass interference(penalties), counters, etc... Yes your qb will probably get sacked on every 1-50 run plays. This is just another mechanism to slow offenses down.
