8000 gems to play both kickoff series and season... that's a lot of gems. A lot of people aren't going to play both (or even one).

As someone who def griped and moaned about the season mode... THUMBS UP devs. So far, this is a pretty significant improvement.

In the tutorial? Yeah, it sounds like a butchers in the stands grinding up torn acl's.

I've accepted season mode isn't coming back (it's effectively gone in FIFA as well). I also agree the last few seasons, season mode and season battles are horribly watered down versions of real seasons.   That said, I think everyone who hates season (mode/battles/whatever) is missing the point... season mode is supposed to be the bedrock of the game. Look at games from the past; seasons are typically the main component. In other sports: baseball -- there are plenty of games that play seasons as a main component.    A season mode (or franchise mode) would have: - a regular season - regular rules - injuries/coaching/full set of penalities - stats for players and teams - season-long standings   Of course, this works against marketing. Marketing wants PvP because the competition makes it easier to push micro-transactions. So that's why it's never coming back.    TL;DR: Season mode is never coming back and (in that sense) we'll never have a real football game.

Feel you on the skill moves... spamming rainbows got old fast.  Ditto on passing/shooting. All my shots are from the perimeter in VS. The irony of going from one EA game to another is not lost on me... that said, FIFA is their bread and butter and I think they would be far less tolerant of a major FIFA failing, unlike OD.
