I've been reading a lot of threads about schemes and coaches. I seem to hear Lynn, Vrabel, and Garret as the most common coaches. I have used Madden since the start and because I became so comfortable with the playbook and my progression of plays in OD, I decided to invest in Madden from the start. I have reached hall of fame every OD season but I only try to get top 1000 or so, not really looking to be extra competitive, so Madden has worked out very well for me so far. I just wanted to hear from any vertical players what caused them to turn away from madden, are there any significant negatives that I am overlooking other than the lack of great pressures? If I decided to start pushing for top 500 or higher will Madden prevent me from doing that? Love to hear some opinions on him and why you guys prefer some of the other coaches.

I completed Howard very early in the season and he has been completely dominant for me. He very rarely doesn't make a catch, and the ones that he does are usually heavily contested. He makes incredible catches consistently and using the vertical scheme ability to lead him is unfair against a majority of the DBs in the game who are slower than he is. I haven't had any reason to use anyone else at tight end even though he is out of scheme, he has been my best player the whole season. I used x-factor Ertz for a little bit but he seemed to be a downgrade, didn't seem run routes as smoothly nor did he gain the separation or extra step that Howard consistently provided, so I switched back to Howard. I haven't used Olsen so not sure how he plays but I very highly recommend Howard.

Khalil Mack and Terrell Edmunds are who I went with. Both top overalls at positions with limited options currently. Team needs also played a part in my choices though.

I didn't really start having a whole lot of success with the playbook until I got 85 phenom Howard at TE. The playbook just seemed to open up, there were three short passes with TE corner routes that became open every time and anytime I became flustered I could throw it into double or triple coverage to Howard and probably 75% of the time he was coming down with the catch. I've become super comfortable with Madden's playbook now which takes the panic out of overdrive because I know I can turn almost any crossing pattern into a minimum fifteen yard gain by leading the receiver. Although I do use PA passes and know how dominant they are, I rarely use them in overdrive as the animation seems to take too much unnecessary time. The long pass X seam, with Howard, is as close to an unstoppable play that I have ever seen. I can see how some people may prefer other schemes but vertical seems to be very effective for me even though I primarily only use short and long passes.

Anyone know what primetime is going to be, more of a Phenoms and Legends live event or an actual promo?

I've completed a phenom, a legend, and have definitely completed 50 master series events, yet all banners other than the default are locked for me. Is this supposed to happen, will they unlock at a later date?

Under the Master Series sets, or under Solo->Master series

I see, that's what I thought but wasn't sure if I had missed a set or achievement to unlock it
