I should add, I do have an 84 Cohen as HB, and am using the Panther playbook. I just remember last year it had the wildcat in it so went with that.

Like most here, Ricky. Seems to run well, but I try to do more of a WC style offense so I don't run a lot. Recently got the ToTW Tavon Austin, he's been a pleasant surprise. Good change of pace back. Great speed, acceleration, and agility - better than my 83 OVR Tyreek Hill.

When was the last time we've had a Thursday night game like this?? Excellent football. As a Packer fan (born and raised here) I only wish my team had this much talent on the field. Wow.

Quote from jcsteel66 >> Here's a link to the thread in which I discuss my team building strategy (which focuses on the known statistical thresholds, players I like, and my scheme, which is run-heavy): https://www.muthead.com/forums/madden/mut-discussion/1414405-team-building-tips-player-choice-chemistry I hope it helps. Thanks for taking the time to look that up! Very informative!

This is bold. Telling others what to do in an online gaming environment. I like it.

I'm trying to get better at reading defenses. I usually check the safeties, but that doesn't seem to clue me in on what the call is. Obviously, the number of safeties is important. I've gotten in the mode of looking at safeties and then looking to see if the corners are pressing or hovering back off the line. Are there any tips on what else I should be doing, or shouldn't be doing when trying to read a defense?

Yea, I'm a new player and am working on the same thing. I find in press man coverage that plays like the slants work. In Cover 2, you need to watch the corners and see if they are in man, or zone coverage. In some zone coverages, you want to have a play where there's an option high and low to make the corner chose who to cover. Deep posts seem to be good against Cover 3. I'm doing a lot of practicing to see what works against coverages. The skills trainer also has info on how to beat certain defenses and you get packs for completing them.

Yea, they've been fun. I enjoy them more than the Ultimate Moments. The games go quick and the XP seems good. To each his own.

Quote from NYCoolGuy >> Closely. It's all relative and this site right here is a good place to ask questions and do some research. Take a 4-3 defense vs a 3-4. Take Telvin Smith. Telvin Smith is a natural 4-3 ROLB. That is exactly where you want him. Everything you could ask for - 77 zone. 87 blockshed to get after runs coming to him. Excellent. You 100% do not want him in a 3-4. A 3-4 will place him on the line to rush the passer. Telvin smith has ...wait for it....53 power move and 67 finesse. Meaning he will never get to the passer and bulldozed unless you specifically change him to MLB or something in a 3-4. \ Take Justin Houston, a natural 3-4 OLB. A 3-4 places him on the line to rush the passer. 87 power move, 84 finesse move. If you put him a 4-3, you are placing him in coverage with 58 man and 71 zone. No good. So as a result if unsure, get on muthead and compare players. When you compare them, it zones out if they are a 3-4 guy, a 4-3 guy, a coverage guy etc.
