For me I found the cheapest way was to earn series 2 trophys and use them to create the gold players for the boss set, 1 for each gold, 20 in all, then buy the elites from the auction house to complete the set, to choose a 90 overall. It's about 100k cheaper then outright buying the 90 over all's for the master set, hope that helps.
