MCS Ultimate Thanksgiving Preview- Xbox Series X

The second MCS tournament of the season is heading to the Double Elimination stage after 3 hard fought weekends of ladder play. As it stands right now, the top 232 players on each console have made it to the Double Elimination stage, with the top 8 receiving a first round bye. The top 4 from each console will qualify for the live event, and earn at least $15,000. The live finals will be November 19th and 24th, with a total prize pool of $250,000. Lets take a look at the top 8 from each console.

XBOX Bracket

  1. SpamminButtons- If it weren't for Jonbeast last year, SpamminButtons might have been the Newcomer of the Year to the competitive Madden Scene. The king of HB Base, Spammin went 15-1 in his first 4 FNF Tournaments in Madden 21, winning 3 of them. Many around the community have said Spammin is one of the toughest outs of anyone, and it shows with his 21-3 record on the ladders. His lone losses were to 3 club champions (Jwall, Dcroft, SomeSerious), but he was also able to avenge those losses later in ladders, adding on to wins over Drini, Ice, and Fancy.
  2. Skimbo- It wouldn't be a Madden tournament without the 3 time belt winner making an appearance. Mike Skimbo continues his Madden 22 season with a 26-9 record in the ladders. Skimbo just missed out on a Top 8 in the Ultimate Kickoff, losing to eventual Final 4 participant Ice in the Single Elimination brackets. Will the double elims help Skimbo's quest for belt #4?
  3. Fancy- TNC making it's first appearance in the top 8, with the defending Cowboys Club Champion rocking a 26-9 record. Fancy is one of the most accomplished players in FNF history, with an unreal 150-57 (72.5%) record overall and 10 FNF Titles (8 in M20, 2 in M21). Fancy is known for being one of the gurus in Trips TE, and many have said with some of the newer patches that Trips is making its way into being a top offense. Can Fancy make it to the top 8 and get one step closer to his first belt?
  4. Strap x god- This is a name that I think many would be surprised to be in the top 8, but make no mistake this is one tough young Madden player. Strap was the Carolina Panthers club runner up in M21, losing to Manu in the finals. Strap runs the U-Trips formation, one that many have seen Dcroft run for years. Strap had some nice wins in ladder play (26-9) with early wins over Skimbo, Joel, Mr Football, and Dcroft. Don't out this goon on Double Elim weekend.
  5. Dcroft- And speaking of U-Trips, hello Daniel Mycroft! You know that Dcroft is hungry to get back to a belt game final, after coming up just short in the Madden 20 Bowl, Dcroft went 23-6 in ladder play, with wins over SomeSerious, Kmac, Joel, and Skimbo. Skim however got the better of him twice later in the ladders. He is coming into double elim losing 3 of his last 5 games. His early performance, however, earned him a bye and you know he is one of the most well prepared players in the MCS as we head to double elim.
  6. Kmac- Get lucky, get lucky, get lucky. TGL's Kmac is rocking a whopping 32-16 record, playing 48 ladder games in 3 weekends. Kmac has always been known as a top tier offensive player, which certainly fits the gameplay in Madden 22. He is coming in with some momentum, winning his last 4 ladder games (and 5 out of 6), including wins over Madden 21 Club Champion JWall and Madden 19 Club Champion Pavan.
  7. Gabagol94- One of the goons in the Madden community, Gabagol has been cutting his teeth on the Madden tournament scene waiting to take that next step. He has a career 7-12 record in FNF as a relative newcomer to the scene. He matched KMac with a 32-16 record record in 48 ladder games played. Can Gabagol handle this new success with a Top 4 and a berth in the live event?
  8. Mr. Football 88- Rounding out the top 8 is the defending Falcons Club Champion Mr Football. The Oregon Duck is looking to continue the success he found in Madden 21, especially late in the season. Mr Football made 3 FNF finals in Madden 21, but came up just short of taking home the $1k prize. Mr Football went 29-13 in 42 ladder games played.

Now, there are 232 players qualified on the XBox side of the bracket, and here are some other players to keep an eye on in the coming weekends.

Drini- Yeah, I mean obviously. The 2 time belt winner just missed out on a Top 8 spot, going 28-12 in 40 games on the ladders. Whenever there is a big tournament, Mr. Gjoka has to be one to look out for

KerryQ- One of the longtime goons in the Madden community, Kerry finished 11th with a monstrous 60 GAMES PLAYED (37-23). He would have been top 8, but he lost his final 2 games against Fancy and Mr. Football. Look out for the Deuce Close offense when the Q is on the field.

Pavan- No stranger to big tournaments, Pavan finished 20th in the ladders heading into Double Elims. He played 40 games (25-15) and will be looking to get back on top of the Madden world.

OneGreatUser- LOOK AT THE USER!! Will he need to be pulled out of the broadcast if he makes a Top 8 berth? Will he be on the desk to analyze his own games? User is 36th on the Ladder, playing 44 games and going 26-18. He's got the fire (probably from all that spicy food on Next One Up) and he has the passion to make a run.

BigBullyEB- Never sleep on the man know by many names. BigBullyEB (formely Eil and NeeNee) is coming off of a FNF win to kick off Madden 22. He is 53rd in the ladders, playing 35 games and rocking a 21-14 record. This wiley veteran will be looking to bring a belt to the bullies.
