MCS Ultimate Thanksgiving Preview- PS5

The second MCS tournament of the season is heading to the Double Elimination stage after 3 hard fought weekends of ladder play. As it stands right now, the top 232 players on each console have made it to the Double Elimination stage, with the top 8 receiving a first round bye. The top 4 from each console will qualify for the live event, and earn at least $15,000. The live finals will be November 19th and 24th, with a total prize pool of $250,000. Lets take a look at the top 8 from each console, this time focusing on the Playstation 5 side of the bracket:

PS5 BRACKET

  • Wesley- Ho hum, just another fantastic performance from the former Joe Rice. Wesley is the FNF goat with 15 FNF wins in his career, and he is looking to add his first individual MCS belt, and second MCS belt overall in the Ultimate Thanksgiving. Wes went 26-9 in 35 games on the ladders to take the top spot, winning his final 7 games headed into the ladders. Wesley has an astonishing 168-45 record all time in FNF, with 9 titles in Madden 21, 7 in Madden 20, and 1 in Madden 19. Expect to see plenty of bunch when Wes is on the field.
  • Henry- Ho Hum, just anoth...wait am I having deja vu? Crewmate and best friend of the number one seed Wesley, Henry is back in a high leverage position as the number 2 seed in the Ultimate Thanksgiving Double Elimination Bracket. Henry is coming off of a Top 8 at the Ultimate Kickoff and is rocking a 25-8 record in the ladders. Henry finished his ladder run with back to back wins over CleffTheGod and NoahUpNxt. Henry will look to continue his unreal streak of qualifying for every EA Major Live Event he has been eligible for with the upcoming tournament.
  • DatBoi- The defending Miami Dolphins club champion is out to earn some respect and prove his club win in Madden 21 was no fluke. The always entertaining DatBoi went 25-8 in ladder play, with wins over Noah, Kiv, Henry, and Gos throughout the 3 weekend competition. Can DatBoi get back to the promised land of an MCS Live Event?
  • FreeThePenguins- The Madden community's favorite environmentalist, Freep is looking to continue his success since becoming the Bengals club champion in Madden 21. Freep played 62 games of Madden 22, with a final record of 39-23 in the 3 weekend ladders. This could work to his advantage, as the gunslinger was able to play just about anyone and everyone of note in the ladders. Always a pain to play, you never know what you will get when Chichirito is on the field.
  • JSTheBest- One of the more consistent players in the community, the former Ravens club champion is in the Top 8 of the Ultimate Thanksgiving competition. JS is looking for his 3rd live event qualification, and put in the time playing 62 Madden 22 games and finishing with a 39-23 record. JS will be looking to finish top four and add a belt to truly make his moniker the truth.
  • CleffTheGod- The man, the myth, the legend is back and locked in. CleffTheGod, coming off of a tough loss in the finals of the Ultimate Kickoff, has to be on the list of favorites for the Ultimate Thanksgiving. Cleff played 50 games in the ladders, with a record of 33-17. He is no stranger to tough brackets, having earned 102 wins in FNF and is 3rd all time in titles with 8. Cleff has always been one of the toughest outs in a tournament, and he will look to cement his legacy over Turkey Day.
  • Volterax- The man with one of the most highlight worthy plays in the history of the MCS, the Madden 20 Club Champion will look to add to his trophy collection. He went 32-16 in the ladders, winning his final 3 games to finish out the weekend. You can expect a hard nosed rushing attack from Volt (could we see Derek Henry getting some use?) and a defense that will look to force turnovers.
  • Cobo- Rounding out the top 8, the young 17 year old Cobo is looking to cement his name as one of the best young players in the game. Cobo (rocking the 818 tag) will certainly look to use some of 818's offensive genius to push defenses to their limits. Cobo went 28-12 in ladders, with a late 2-2 run to finish the final weekend. Could we be naming Cobo as Newcomer of the Year?

Here are some other names to watch over the next couple weekends

Jonbeast- The Beast is back in the Ultimate Thanksgiving, looking to go 2/2 in MCS Tournaments. Jon went 33-20 in 52 ladder games and certainly has the most momentum of anyone going into this tournament.

Kiv- Big tournament needs big time players, and the veteran Young Kiv is looking to make a run. Kiv went 29-19 in teh ladders to finish 19th in the Ladders. The master of the bunch will look to take advantage of the best formation in the game to make a run towards his second belt.

Gos/Noah- You have 2 belt winners sitting just outside the top 10 at 11 and 12 respectively. Not much more to say, just look out ladies and gentlemen.

Boogz- The Bugatti is Back! Always in the picture for a belt, the old man of Madden will certainly be looking to make top 4, or at least make it further than User. He's locked in for another run, finishing 49th at 25-18.
