I sold my copy last Christmas (2019) for $125, because I thought this announcement was around the corner. I would sell it while you can. Support and servers will eventually go away and the value will drop.
They'll take this game, copy and paste it into a new game, change the stadiums and uniforms, slap a new wrapper on the box and sell it as a new project. I'm not sure how college mut would work, but I'd expect it to be the same game as every other ncaa. Was there an ultimate team in 14?
Not sure what they had. I got the game and just played as a regular team. For a few years I didn't even realize what MUT was in Madden. I'd get the game, play as a regular team. One day (a few years back) I saw my kids in the MUT mode, and I'm like, wait I can build my own team like a GM? I got hooked. My kids tell me that had some mode but it wasn't exactly like a MUT mode. They tell me you could mod players. They're telling me you may be able to mod some players in the new version if it holds true to the old version. So if they don't have say Doug Flutie (he has his own college FB franchise) I can mod and make him. Not sure how it will pan out, but you have to think with amount of $$$ the MUT brings in they could have something similar. I would love to have old college football legends.
I know I'm probably a sucker for allowing these thoughts to creep in, but could there be a glimmer of hope for a EA's College MUT? How can they not have a MUT mode? Leaving a lot of $$$ on the table if they don't.
When I first heard of EA doing this I was skeptical that it would be any better than the direction the current MUT is going, but.....I'm told (by my kids who are up on video game stuff) tell me that's it's a few years away.
And then I start getting these positive hopeful thoughts....I know.....is it possible that a separate developing team might get assigned this task to develop the new game? Is it possible with this timeline they might construct a new improved gaming engine with this time frame? Not just a copy and paste job like we suspect? And if they do construct a new improved game engine, could they transition the NFL version of Madden to that in a few years? Or am I deluding myself?
I for one would love a college MUT where I could put the old college legends with their teams. USC, LSU, Auburn with Bo, Notre Dame, Bama...maybe construct my own college MUT team with my own recruiting of Legends.......should I sell my old NCAA14 while the price is high?
