I see where you are coming from. The intention of the post is not on the company itself. It is how people develop a biased view towards something and that bias much like people themselves is difficult if not impossible to change once it manifests itself deep within your subconscious. That one moment such as pulling a gt or getting an incredible user pick may stay subconsciously and drive you to buy and play the game frequently even though the vast majority of your experience is negative. That moment(s) was enough to give you a high and put you on track to addiction or at the very least, a desire to replicate that high. seems like people view madden as a failed relationship. one ex that overall treated you poorly but did 1 amazing thing or had 1 amazing experience with you that you will never forget.
