No benefit at all, so use whichever one you can get for less coins. But the point of the 97 is to give the stats of a powered up 96, so if you have a 97, don’t bother with the power up or training in the first place.

You have to complete the theme diamond 2 sets, one for each team. You can buy all the players for a set on the AH, complete the set, and then sell the team theme diamond that you get in return. After you do all the team sets, you’ll get NTL. I did it when the market crashed after the first golden tickets were released, and ended up making 200k overall in addition to getting NTL and his PU. That’s what he means when he says “for free”.
