Just some basic things to help with:   Most schemes are built around certain plays, whether it be a formation that has a good post route or formation that has two good run plays, stretch or dive. Some are built on formation balance. What I mean by that is compression, trips, or single back forms that are heavy to one side. These forms can make defense alignment issues when they play against you. Best thing would be to find a good form that you like with the things I mentioned before and begin to master your scheme so you know where to go with the ball. Hope that helps.
