I mean, if you can wait longer, that's not gonna motivate them to release him then.

What isn't affordable about it? Rice, beans, pasta and produce are cheaper than meat. Your anecdotal evidence of the four people you know who subsist entirely on mac and cheese, fries, and pizza isn't really representative of the reasonable, healthy diet one can maintain from a vegetarian/vegan diet. Diets are an individual person's choice, sure, but a farmed animal doesn't exactly seem to have a choice in their life, and therein lies the "guilt trip." There's nothing natural about mass-breeding animals for consumption, given that the definition of natural reads as "existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind." I'm also not entirely sure what is "ridiculous" about choosing compassion over cruelty.

It's probably a pretty safe assumption. If 5-8% of the U.S. population are vegetarian and 3% vegan, I have to imagine the numbers for the Hot Pocket-eating hardcore MUT enthusiasts are deep in the 0.1s.

Do you understand how agriculture works? Entirely too much of the food grown by farmers is allocated for livestock growth and production. Livestock takes up nearly 80% of global agricultural land, yet produces less than 20% of the world’s supply of calories. If we allocated land use strictly for food going directly to humans, it would be much more sustainable than the given system (not to mention ethical).

Out of the question? lol, no. "It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19562864 Try again, though.

And I'm sure for Vick, it was enjoyable to pit dogs in violent clashes against one other. Sensory pleasure isn't a justifiable reason for exploitation and murder, but thanks for playing.

Are you asking me what food exists that isn’t made of animal? Have you been to a supermarket before?

You exploit them without their consent for personal gain. There should be no need to rear them for food or milk in a modernized, industrialized society populated by supposedly emphathic people when there are other options that don’t involve harming sentient beings.
