The Future of the NCAA Football Game and a Look Back at NCAA Ultimate Team and MUT 25
So with today's news that the NCAA is exploring allowing college football players to profit from their likeness, I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping for a revival of the NCAA Football Football game. The last iteration of NCAA Football actually had an Ultimate Team Mode. Doing some limited research, there are some clear differences between Ultimate Team then and now.
The first thing I noticed was that there were no where near as many high overall players. For example the Cowboys highest rated player was Emmitt Smith at 97 overall. My Falcons also had Tony Gonzalez as 90 overall as the highest rated player.
If I remember correctly, sets were no where near as prevalent as they are now. We had to pull everything from packs which wasn't as easy to do with fewer solos to do
We also didn't have Weekend League or Solo Battles. The game was no where near as time consuming.
I'm also assuming that any future version of NCAA Football would be similar to Madden in gameplay and presentation. I would love to see a new version of the NCAA game with the formations and players. What do you guys think?
