defense vs the run
the run works because of 2 reason.
leverage never having existed in madden when it is one of if not THE most important thing. ai defenders vs the run stats dont matter when it comes to bks, purusit, playrec, awareness, str, weigh etc. literally NO STAT MATTERS for defenders vs the run. there are thousands of examples of stats not mattering but yeah its atrocious. some common issues that happen on an EVERY DOWN BASIS are :
defenders freezing for 2-3 seconds back peddling or sidestepping instead of running moving away from the ball and/or taking wrong steps wr or te completley dominating edge defenders block in the back animations that have been in the game since 16 at least blockers teleporting/suctioning onto defenders not following gap assignments could list more but in general it is just a great big mess. i have often said you should NEVER make players looks like reds but it is happening every single running play. while we are on the topic the game is the most red friendly since i have started in 25.
AMEN!!! You are soo right brotha! And these same dudes claim it takes more skill to run then pass! I REALLY REALLY hate the suctioning, it happens every play on Good Run plays, literally you can watch your players not pursue the ball carrier but be soo anxious to run into Blocks, like idiots. Thats why I dont take losses to Runners to mean anything.
