IF YOU ARE USING CLASSING PASSING AND HAVING TROUBLE I HAVE DONE SOME DIGGING

Okay so if your using CLASSIC passing and your qb misses on wide open throws especially check downs then you need to switch to skill based passing. Hate to say it, but EA has to be pushing CLASSIC PASSING to the side. I played all last night with skill based passing for the first time and it is night and day compared to CLASSIC. My qb rarely missed on wide open throws although there will be some bad ones still occasionally, but thats MADDEN for you. I just felt like people need to know if you're having problems just go in practice and mess around with it for 15 minutes I didn't want to switch just because I've been playing madden forever and it's always been CLASSIC PASSING. This year they definitely are trying to get people to stop using and its probably because they feel like since they finally put some work into the game all be it a small addition they feel like forcing people to use. I don't like that at all, but it's 1000 percent how it is right now

Sometimes I just want to relax and not get so sweaty. Over the last few years EA has tried to force the sweats on me, in every new idea they’ve had. I’d rather not.

This is a great tip good looking out

Synopsis

I use skill based and this happens regardless. The qbs just suck, they coded something under the hood to make them different from years past. Ive used the 83 allen, the bryce, the cj, and the levis and from what i saw when drops where on from streamers is that the qb doesn't really matter besides speed because they all suck as passers even if the stats say they shouldn't.

jc238

I usually disagree with you on most things, but you're spot on with this. It sucks, but the best QBs in real life miss throws.

Synopsis

I'm sure they are setting it up for a big name qb legend this week or next most likely that has a velocity ability, or maybe even hrm. Thats their bread and butter.

But shouldn't it be that way? Why would a mechanic with extra variables and inputs needed have the same success rate as something that doesn't have as many?

MLB the show went through these balancing pains several years ago. Greater risk for bad input , but greater success rate for good timing. Personally I don't think they should allow different mechanics online. Whatever you wanna do offline is fine, but online it's gotta be an even playing field.

You want more outcomes determined by user input, you got it. Stop complaining.

Yes and no. Skill based passing to me is all about "covered" receivers and being able to dot the ball exactly where you want it to make a previously contested ball catchable. I agree that this should be user input / skill driven, and classic passing shouldn't mimic this ability.

HOWEVER, to the point of this post, whether it's classic passing or skill passing, hitting a wide open receiver or an RB on a check down should have zero percent correlation to this. If classic passing is missing a wide open receiver 30% of the time, something is wrong with that implementation.

natej88

Idk man maybe I'm wrong then. I thought skill based passing had to with the meter.

Synopsis

There is no penalty for the meter, only a bonus if its timed right.

natej88

Then your post above must be correct - these misses are the norm. Because I'm missing wide open 5 yard passes from Tua who has 86 short accuracy. It says poor accuracy and I can tell my meter timing was not good.

Synopsis

Was definitely just on a roll with the 86 bryce. He has done nothing but miss passes the last 3 games. Some of them don't have a explanation, like I had a curl sitting there as a check down, was just standing there, so I make my reads and nothings there so I go to dump it down to the curl who had at least a 8 yard buffer in any direction and bryce threw it legit like 15 yards past him and maybe 10 yards horizontally away from the curl. Perfect accuracy, out of reach is what it said.

Synopsis

Hell half the time mine says perfect accuracy and its still no where near them. I just got the token to make bryce a 86 and maybe its just a string of good luck or its placebo effect but its the only card that hasn't done that for me so far. His 84 was terrible about it, so maybe it is just a good roll I'm on with him.

Exactly it feels like the QB missing wide open check downs with CLASSIC PASSING is broken I have yet to see ea say anything about it I did tweet at them, but I didn't feel like waiting so I just switched to skill based passing. I've been playing madden since I was a kid and this is the first year QB's consistently miss WIDE OPEN passes and it coincidently the 2nd year after they made skill based passing. Idk maybe its not on purpose, but I think when GUNSLINGER comes around classic might be viable again.

And skill based passing is surprisingly super easy forreal
