New player to MUT and I can’t win a single online game
Don't waste $$$ & time chasing these guys. They're good and they have the meta down to a science. If you do make it to the playoffs you'll be dashboarded anyways. Go back to regs. If your still interested just play enough solos and challenges to get rookie Premier players for MUT 24. Then start MUT in 24 when all the players are slow and everyone has a similar team.

No offense at all but this late in the year having an 86 overall team means you won’t get many (if any) wins. Your 80s WRs won’t be able to break free from 99 CBs and your 80s CBs certainly won’t keep up with 99 WRs.
Focus on team building and doing solos before heading back into H2H. Lower overall teams can beat god squads but not an 86-99 difference. Active X Factors only make it tougher.
thats the inherent problem with this game. pay-to-win or grind your soul away to have a competitive team. lucky for you, that asian american promo just dropped so u can get a bunch of 96s. that shud help out alot
Ok so I'll attempt to at answer at least a few of your questions.
Blue numbers means the overall is being raised by chemistry boosts. So a card is a 90 overall but with boosts it's a 92, it will display the 92 in blue.
Unfortunately everyone this time of year will have a high overall team, no matter what "rank". The game has been out for 9 months, and there are multiple ways to get cards that don't involve winning online.
Man coverage was the "meta" this year. Often paired with a blitz. I quite despised it. Unlike previous years, man beater routes didn't work much... that is until abilities became attainable for more players. Which is what this year was all about. Abilities. Discounted abilities to be precise.
So here is my advice. Check out mut gg website, specifically their tier list for abilities. It's pretty good but a little outdated. Because some of the abilities they claim aren't worth it are discounted down to 0-1 AP for plenty of players.
Now listen... I hate to say this... if you actually want to compete starting this late, you are going to have to drop some $$. I know I know, but it's true. If you do some research $50-75 will go really far. Probably starting with the bound theme team options.
Don't let it bum you out too much if you are serious about starting, because creating and building your team is actually the most fun part! I often will sell my team and build a new one multiple times a year. This year I started with eagles from day one though, and I couldn't bring myself to change!
86 overall your not going to win online. Maybe play the other online mode, the teams.
Do solos that rewards you with free cards to get higher overall players.
I really need some tips. I’m not new to madden itself, I just usually play regular online head to head, where players are usually average skill. I’ve played many friends and I usually win, so I consider myself an average skill player, nothing great but not too bad. So I started my MUT, my team is 86 overall. I hit lvl 3 so I can play online against others with my MUT. Of course I’m in the lowest possible rank, and yet, all my games have been against 99 overall teams with all their players having a blue overall on them (what is that?). I can’t do a single thing, and every defensive play is some sort of https://xrank.one/spankbang/ cover 1 that leaves all my players 100% in coverage. Any tips? How do players make their teams so overpowered in the lowest possible rank? Why are their players overalls in blue? How do they get these amazing players so fast? (I assume it’s fast because again, I am in the lowest possible rank). What plays do they use? I’m perplexed and need some help.
