Pre-order Madden Points - Given In Increments?

I've seen chatter about how people plan to use their 4000 or so Madden points at launch as if the entire balance will be redeemable at launch. Just to make sure, aren't these points given out monthly 500 at a time? Don't want anyone making their initial plans as if they'll have the entire balance available if this won't be the case.

Jonathanmote

Quick question, how much money would 4600 points cost if you were buying them after launch? I’m guessing about $40 since that’s how much more the top Madden Cost this year?

von11

With no discounts...about $46(ish).

Jonathanmote

Gotcha, thanks.

You get your 4600 points at the beginning. You get 500 per month additionally IF you have EA Play Pro AND play on PC

pauliev31

I'd like for this to be true but I have not found any definitive source that states that. Certainly the words on EA's own site don't say that. Not trying to pick a fight or anything, just looking for clarification

From EA’s Preorder Gridiron Notes (https://www.ea.com/games/madden-nfl/madden-nfl-23/news/gridiron-notes-madden-23-pre-order-details):

EA Play Pro Members (PC Only)
  • Full access to the Madden NFL 23 EA Play Pro Edition beginning August 16, 2022

  • 500 Madden Points with each monthly Madden NFL 23 log-in from August 2022 – July 2023**

  • Score a Launch Welcome Pack in Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team

  • Claim monthly Ultimate Team Pack and Vanity rewards tied to in-game seasonal programs

  • Get 10% off purchases of EA digital content

**Madden Points will be provided in monthly installments of 500 per month beginning August 16, 2022 and ending July 31, 2023. The first 500 Madden Points will be available August 16, 2022 – August 31, 2022. Each subsequent monthly Madden Points drop will be available beginning the first of that month and ending on the last day of that month. Requires an active EA Play Pro subscription and monthly login to Madden NFL 23 prior to the last day of each month to receive that month’s Madden Points drop. The maximum total of Madden Points that will be offered from August 16, 2022 to July 31, 2023 is 6,000. In order to receive 500 Madden Points each month, you must log into Madden NFL 23 and maintain an active EA Play Pro subscription each month from August 2022 through July 2023. If you do not maintain an EA Play Pro subscription or log in to Madden NFL 23 prior to the last day of any given month, you will not receive that month’s Madden Points drop. Additional restrictions apply. See EA Play Terms for details.

Thanks - looks like I may have to sign up for a remedial reading course. Getting old sucks. I don't recommend it

von11

I'm old as well and agree...not my favorite thing. But...I'm gonna keep pretending I'm not (I have thus far only fooled myself).

von11

I like this answer...I'd send you an MHC...but...you know. Thanks my man.

von11

I'm now not sure...gonna keep Googling and I'll update if I find anything.

pauliev31

Thanks - I didn't read that far - shame on me. The 500 points/month is fine with me - I don't care how they do it but now I have another concern:

"Requires an active EA Play Pro subscription"

I though EA Play Pro was only available on PC.

von11

Yep...I think you are right. I updated my post as now I have no clue. Like looking for a needle in...sure...a haystack trying to find the "fine print" on the points.

pauliev31

I updated my post on Answers HQ asking for clarification. I will update this thread if I get a response

von11

Thank you

cmh1988

If you read all of that, you would see that’s referencing only EA Play Pro members on PC.

von11

.5 MHC awarded for attention to detail leading to the removal of possible misleading information (posted by me). Thanks again.

cmh1988

Not needed but much appreciated. ✌️

von11

Yep...I see that and now I'm not sure...gonna delete all that as I don't want to mislead anyone and I guess I'll know next week. Good looking out.

cmh1988

No worries. Just trying to avoid misleading anyone. 🫡

von11

Good to go...One Team One Fight! Thanks for looking out and having my back.

JJ18

ah so they’re giving us the points when they don’t matter. Typical

drhodez

The only thing that was said was a monthly amount of 500 points was ea play. Since they were so trash at the ea play packs

cmh1988

That is for EA Play Pro users on PC, not EA Play members. It’s literally specified in the Gridiron notes: https://www.ea.com/games/madden-nfl/madden-nfl-23/news/gridiron-notes-madden-23-pre-order-details

Edited by cmh1988

drhodez

Either way, that’s the only thing that specified monthly

cmh1988

Exactly. EA Play Pro users will receive 500 points every month for logging in - totaling 6000 for the year.

This, however, has no bearing on the All-Madden edition preorder bonus.

drhodez

Right. And AGAIN, that is the ONLY THING mentioning points being 500 every month. As in nothing is mentioned about preorder points being 500 every month. You following me now?

cmh1988

I’m in agreement that this has no bearing at all on the question at hand.

pauliev31

I did some searching online and could not find a definitive answer so I posted the question in EA Answers HQ here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Updates-News/Madden-23-All-Madden-Pre-Order-Points/m-p/11720102#M1202 I don't expect a reply but figured it couldn't hurt to go straight to the source and ask

jc238

Thank you. Before I posted this, I searched and couldn't find a clear answer.

cmh1988

Please keep us informed if you receive a response clarifying.

pauliev31

Absolutely will

cmh1988

This is actually the first year that they’ve included points as as a preorder bonus. I don’t believe it’s been stated how they would be distributed, but the expected consensus is that they would allot the whole balance at once. Why would it be spread out?

pauliev31

While neither MUT nor points, in the NHL series, pre-order packs have been granted monthly rather than all on day one, so it would not be without precedent for EA to spread out pre-order bonuses. Additionally, flooding the market with coins/items etc from all the pre-orders getting 4600 points at once could adversely affect the auction house

Edited by pauliev31

cmh1988

It would have no different impact than the previous team gold packs.

MicahTheGOAT

4600 free Madden points would have a much bigger impact than team gold packs. You'd be able to buy platinum packs with guaranteed core elite qs. You're not pulling anything like that consistently from those gold packs

NoRazorBumpz

Exactly! Good thing you preordered 😅

MicahTheGOAT

🤪🤪 didn't realize EA made basketball games again

jkent1986

It’s already been stated that they are giving them out at 500 points a month… Which is so dumb

drhodez

That’s ea play. Ea play is giving out 500 points monthly

cmh1988

EA Play Pro on PC - yes.

pauliev31

If you have a source for this information that would be helpful - thanks

cmh1988

Where has this been stated?
