I had already decided l wasn’t powering up players this year. I wasted a lot of coin that l only got half back.
I personally think they are making it easier to be NMS. The field pass looks like a great way for people who only focus on one aspect in MUT to still be able to grind out free players. Solo/ H2H and special promo field passes. This on top of daily list, h2h/ solo rewards. Seems like a NMS dream.

True NMS doesn’t even even get the game until it’s free, after all the glitches and major complaints are identified by those wasting their time and money for about 8-9 months. By then there have been enough people blowing through packs to have generated cheap cards, PLUS those months typically have solos that generate enough coin for free to allow millions to be stacked quickly
That’s a bad way of classifying NMS. NMS should be more accurately labeled as “No More Spent” meaning aside from pre order (wether it’s $100 or $60) they don’t buy anything in-game
If I buy the $100 pre order which comes with points and bonuses, but I don’t spend any more money in-game, I am NMS. This whole “waiting until the game is free” deal is it’s own separate entity

I respectfully disagree, but it’s also a matter of why you’re “NMS”. Please humor me for a moment and explain how someone can be “NMS” if the first thing they do with the game is literally “spend” money to buy it. 😂😂 You’re lying to yourself and the community when you “spend” $100 for the game and packs and proceed to call yourself NMS. I dont trust anyone with that self imposed label tbh. I also don’t respect handing money to EA’s coffers when the game drops because people are giving EA unrealistic feedback by supporting a trash game. They are coming off their historically crappiest games so why continue to promote the same insanity? Definition of insanity
NMS is in reference to packs or other in-game purchases. Of course you have to buy the game to play it. Don’t be so dense.
So to be a true nms player is to not play the game at all? Getting it for a gift is spending your gift on it. Getting it off of gamepass is giving money to gamepass to give to madden?
No money spent is a self defined, self explanatory term. If I need to explain it to you, you should spend less time on video game and more time on homework and reading comprehension. But I will do you a favor- see, there is in fact a free game out there right now I will let you in on. It’s called “madden 22”. It’s free, and there are a ton of free rewards that will get you millions and the best team you want. Then there’s a mode called “H2H” that you can play your 99 squad with and enjoy for years… FOR FREE- without spending money- in other words “NMS” which means “no money spent”. That actually means that you didn’t spend money on it, but keep that between us because we don’t want too many people to figure it out.
real NMS players steal a disc copy from your local retailer!
Real NMS don’t go running to daddy EA with their credit card day 1 to buy the newest crappy game 😂😂. Calling themselves “NMS” the entire year to feel morally superior yet literally the first thing they do as soon as they can is spend money on the game 😂😂. And you know they are buying other packs throughout the year without saying nothing lol. If living a lie makes them feel good about themselves, all power to them. “Look at me, I’m NMS and have 30 million coins by xmas 😂😂😂😂 🤡 🤡 don’t worry, everyone actually believes you 🥱
You don’t get to decide what the label is. NMS does not include buying the game itself.
The label is self defined. “No money spent” means that if you spend money you’re no longer “NMS” and you’re giving yourself a false label and living a lie. Pretty simple logic
We will see what happens but I do think it may be a hit for us NMS. My big concern is that my bankroll from last year came from GAP packs, selling PUs, and rolling cards into sets for the rookie master card. Was slow going but I got Legend status in the first week and had over a million coins in a month for the first time ever (I am not a grinder, limited spare time).
if i remember correctly, before power ups the value of cards was in the sets because not everything was "wild card". if some level of this comes back it will be welcomed.
It’s hard to remember that long ago tbh. I feel like I’m more elite now than I was then in terms of playing the game and maximizing things. The market was a lot different then tho for sure. Things were for sure more expensive and seemed to stay expensive for longer.
Well laid out position. Sounds reasonable to me this is where it is going. Like you...I was not involved in Madden prior to Power-Ups so no clue how that is going to play out. One of the things I "think" I will like about it is...I don't need to power-up to get team chems and/or secondary positions. You are correct in that folks did use power-ups to save some coin, but on the flip side...others wasted coin to get team chems and/or secondary positions. So I'm taking a wait and see approach...gonna be a fun year no matter what.
I'll preface this by saying that I am not a no money spent player. My first year of Mutt was 21 so I wasn't around before power ups existed. With that being said, I think that this decision regarding power ups is all about money. NMS players often power up power up cards to right below their max level. For them, training is oftentimes cheaper than the card needed. Then they come back and buy the needed card when the value goes down and/or when they get their hands on a power up pass.
Now, the base Elite that powers up will not only not decrease in value over time - but they'll actually increase. Cards holding value is about money, as we rip packs to buy coins to get cards. That's what EA wants us to do. Now, NMS will need coins to buy these cards. More money spent. You couple this with no MUT master, another free square for all of us but huge for NMS players, and it looks even more like their intent. It also seems as if power up passes are a thing of the past.
How was it being NMS before power ups were in the game? To me, it looks like the only cards that will have power ups are cards that have no elite (Legends, many Campus Heroes from last year, etc). What do you guys think?
