I don't want to rant about h2h play. Just watch any youtuber and they will mention how much they hate playing and how bad the game is (while they hammer the 3 glitches that they hate). Let's just agree it is really bad. Being nice I could give it a 2 out of 10.
I have also played every version of madden. The earlier ones 04-09 had more features and better franchise but online play was so-so. Online play seemed to hit its peak between m25-m18 with a sharp sharp fall with frostbite, PUs, and abilities. These years the game had flaws but was pretty well balanced. There was variety of offenses/defenses and counters to pretty much everything. Let's assume we are using end of game state as I know some years early in year nanos were a huge issue.
So if EA offered H2H in "Madden 18 mode" would you play that? In the comments either say "No" (meaning you would only play M22 mode) or list the year that you would play.
I would play M18, M25, M17 as top three. M17 might be #1 if the concept of cross man was ditched.
