Fullback discussion

Im primarily a run first guy and will run until the wheels fall off my back. But there needs to be a discussion on why full backs dont get/have any good abilities for them making them a non essential part of the game.

I run alstott at full back and this guy is close to useless for me when blocking. I will watch this guy get Insta shedded by a safety or corner and just be like wow thats def not the alstott i remember. I think to spice things up if ea somehow allowed full backs to get nasty streak it would def make fullbacks more valuable.

Hines Ward with Honorary Lineman is the best FB I've had all year. Line him up in the slot and run to his side. He'll run linebackers and safeties off the screen sometimes. My YPC has gone up by 3-4 yards with Ward helping clear the 2nd level.

Does he get FB as alternate position?

bpeacock721

No he doesn’t. But from the slot, he blocks better than alstott does for me. Plus it gives me the ability to audible with more flexibility if I’m in single back formations. It also helps that he catches everything.

In franchise mode, superstar fullbacks (so only Juszczyk) can get nasty streak and it’s really useful.

Kyle Brady has monster RBK stats and I like using him as my FB when I run, however it seems most people use a fullback as a tightend. Marcel Reece has tormented me in games and I like to use him as a safety net since.

I've had zero chill Kittle at FB since I got him. Been doing just fine for me.

Tough nut works a little bit, I used it on Reece and puller elite works sparingly but of course that's more situational, not gonna activate on every play. I hate how they made abilities cost the same or more for specific architypes. Like Brady is a blocking TE but his best ability honorary lineman cost 3 AP, same for Ricard. Should be only be 1 or 2 ap. The problem with most FB's though for you to even see the impact of these abilities they have to be able to hit the blocks. Ricard is cool because he's big and strong but is slow as shit and he like most fullbacks will run past the guys you really need them to block.

Agree with everything you said thats why i kept alstott for the speed receiving trucking and blocking. But this dude just irks me. One time i literally watched him run past 2 players and sprint straight to the endzone.....

kandiman38

Yeah I have alstott too and he was good awful today, so I know what you mean

burninchlamydia

Why not just use a tight end instead?

fiyaman93

I specifically replaced waller with gronk because waller cant block to save his life. Once i get off work im going to make some additional adjustments

burninchlamydia

I have Waller at TE and Finley at FB. He’s fast enough that Bo doesn’t instantly outrun him and he usually picks up his block.

Pat Ricard says he can make all the blocks you would ever need in the run game. Go give him a shot!

I agree hes been great for me

How many teams use fullbacks? They're not really apart of offenses anymore.

fiyaman93

You still have legend fullbacks in the game though who were thumper bruisers in there time.
