Thinking about retiring from h2h...
I’m just now starting to think about H2H. I always start slow and focus on free upgrades plus a few packs of course. Team building is my favorite part.
Retiring from something would require you to first have a career in that something. You can't have a career playing madden, gosh.
Actually retire just means to withdraw from a place or activity. You can retire from anything.

I personally quit trying to go for the best team possible, mostly because EA will screw you with their "madden bullshit" as I like to call it (random ass occurrences where the opposing team gets CRAZY stat boosts/animations) and I just built a TT. I've had a lot more fun because I have a lot less expectation. with a top OVR team id expect to win every game. plus I stay away from WL buhahahaha. I dunno how some people get 25 games in on a weekend but I can't.
i can show you my schemes bro, if it would make your life easier. im not the greatest but i get my 18 wins in weekend league and can win super bowls in h2h easily. I have a 91 overall team as well with 50/50 falcons tt
The thing that is stopping me from hitting the full 50/50 is the O-Line from the Broncos. All golds and 1 88 RG, so I can't get the last 4 chem because the golds aren't usable. I expected that tho, so I'm not too worried about it. Maybe if I could have some tips that would be great, but I don't want to take your entire scheme
How do 91 overall reg defenses get steamrolled by 85 ovr reg offenses? You put to much stock on card stats and not enough stock on player ability.

Forgive me, but literally every single h2h game I've played in the last week, every squad game, and every WL game is versus a top tier squad.....that's kind of the norm for MUT in mid November no? Also, I've mentioned in your threads prior about coins repeatedly not to buy the coin packs (this is the reason you never have coins because it's designed for the house to win 95%) but I'm quite aware that you continued to do so LOL. Stop doing that trust me when I say that's why others have millions!
I don't buy expensive coins packs, maybe an AP fantasy here and there but never anything too crazy. The most expensive pack that I will buy will be 40k, but I haven't bought a coin pack in a while, not named the AP fantasies. And even if i did have coins, I can buy maybe 1 or 2 players that would help me, and then have no other way of getting those coins again, due to the lack of methods. But thanks

Well. Solos are a ground. A lot of people use youtube to play. Other people just keep going until they find something that works. I run a Saints theme, 93 ovr, with 42 of 50 Saints. Might I suggest getting a strong safety, and paying the training to give him FS position and go from there. Theme teams arent always super effective until late in the year. Unless you chose a team loaded with options.
I do have John Lynch as SS, but I do need to get someone else as well. My main predicament is that whenever I get coins, (right now I have 350k) I can only buy maybe 2 players and then all my coins are gone. 88 overalls don't help me and they are 40k+. Some 90s don't even help and they are 70k. 91 overall players are what, about 110k+? That's almost half of my coins, so maybe 2 helpful players for my team. I'm one of those people who really struggles to work the market, as all of my investments have resulted in a net loss. The lack of coin methods this year is killing any chance that I have. Most coins that I have had this year was yesterday when I had 500k.
I have a 90 ovr Raiders theme team and I kind of feel it. It's god squad and the same scheme for every single person which gets bland too. Try playing draft teams or whatever, at least teams will be somewhat even.
Its from time to time very frustrating even if you have a god squad or not, but for me it´s NEVER about the OVR of your squad. Like most i´m running a theme team with a few other great cards that fill it up but i still have a few gold cards that take down the OVR but they never see the field so it dosent matter at all. It´s all about the scheme you are using during a game. Like a person mentioned down below here somewhere it´s not an sim football game it´s an arcade game, and treat it like that. The basic concepts of awerness and play recognition dosent exist in this game, it´s all about speed over and over again, that is why SS Taylor Mays is one of the best cards you can get for your defense while in real life he couldent stay in the NFL or even the CFL.
Try out squads insted, it might be hard to find a good squadmate but if you do its for sure the best mode in the game!
I played two games of squads this year. First one was with my bro a week after the game launched, and we saw 97 Barry Sanders, so we promptly conceded lol. Next game was pretty fun actually. I played as head coach to see if someone's team could carry me, and we had a great offense, but the defense was maybe a 75 OVR. The other team had 3 users and Terry McLaurin, so it was a touchdown every play. But my team had Carmichael right after he came out with redzone threat, and it was so much fun. I almost won the game as well, despite the other 2 people on my team quitting lol

The running game is for sure easier to shut down this year with a few formations but ofc the runing game is still powerfull though. Dont care that much about the ovr of youre team, just learn a scheme on offense., It´s easier to score in this years madden with LB´s being total shit without lurker or any ability and just pick up some man beater routes and you will be good.

I've found the best way to get a really, really good team without having to drop a ton of cash on the game is a 50/50 theme team. The plus 2/3 you get on almost every player closes the gap pretty quick.
I tried what you said, and ended up with a 1 overall less offense, but i got 350k coins. I greatly appreciate the advice bro

I do have a Broncos TT in addition to my main, but most of the players overlap. Only thin about my TT is that most of the players aren't max (too expensive) but I do have a 50/50 TT on standby
You can't do it with any team though, Ravens, 49ers, a couple others you can get a 94 overall squad.
49ers TT's are insane right now lmao. Ronnie Lott alone is worth more than half my team. Just gotta keep playing ig
Don't hate me for saying this but to some extent scheme > team. Sure, team helps a lot no question but I watched skimbo for a few mins light up the scoreboard with an 88 ovr team yesterday. Yes, I know there is a massive skill difference between skimbo and 99% other us mortal madden players but there is some truth in when people say scheme > team. I am definitely not one of those as I need the best of the best to compete. Just know there are plenty of people racking up wins with a 91 OVR team on the regular.
One thing I might suggest is watching buffalo kay to try and find ways you can work the market and build your coin stack to afford the better cards. Sorry for your struggle bro. It's not easy out there these days with nonstop man coverage and user rushing douchebags.
91 doesn't seem far off of the god squads . Not sure but isn't the highest you can be is 93 atm ? It does get frustrating and 01 trap can be hell . Hopefully you stick it out .
i have a 95 OVR defense with 50/50 49ers chem, but not overall.

CC's Best Team in Madden is now a 94 OVR, but thats the absolute best with chem's for everyone including high rated backups.
My 49ers TT is 93 ovr. 91 ovr is a solid team.

Sometimes it's not about the players you have, it's the scheme you run and getting players who fit that scheme. I'm a 91 overall and i still use RP Queen. 91, 92, 93, they really aren't that different and it usually comes down to schemes unless you're a cheeser but they don't matter anyway. Find out what you want to do and go from there. I like to have a big secondary that can hit hard with speed so i like to have safeties like Adams, Mays, etc. speed on my dline so i have guys Mathis, Glover who is fast for a DT and they all get the job done

Don't worry about it OP. The game is a joke this year and the AI does absolutely nothing. Defense was watered down and it's tougher to grind for rewards/coins. I'm usually top 300-500 with 100-150 games over .500 in h2h every season and so far, i'm only about 20-25 over .500. It's still early and i'm still learning but they definitely nerfed things that worked in the past, especially usering a defender.
This is one of the only competitive games i play all year and it sucks that it's more like an arcade game than a football sim, that's why you lose to be honest. Has nothing to do with not being good, it's just that basic football mechanics don't exist in this game so you can't play it like a football game, you need to play it like an arcade game. Just keep playing and adjusting and don't stress over the dumb shit, it's an awful game at the end of the day.

I've faced the same with a 93 ovr team. Guys will come out doing what they want until I stop it or get a TO, then they run or pass to the sidelines for 8 or 9 yards each play so they can win.
I dont play unless its house rules. I'm sure I need to change my playbooks too but some of these dudes be having juiced lineups
What is the point of having a 91 overall team if you can't win games? Ever since I started stupid Atwater over Simmons to get to 91, every game has been against a pay-to-win sweater! So insane! I'm (explicitive) done with this bs! It's every day that I play against people who have EVERY good card in the game and run the same two plays the WHOLE GAME, or at least the first quarter until I quit after 2 pick 6's down 21 nothing! I'm tired of this! How do these people have all the best players and can sweep my 91 OVR team with ease, but when i play a bot they almost win?! I don't understand how a 91 defense can get steamrolled on by these people! When I get coins, I can buy one player for my team and be broke, but they can get everyone? So stupid! Make Madden fair! I payed 60 dollars and at least 20 extra for constant headaches and anger? Why do i get punished???
