How to get pass rush with front 4?? Pass aggressive off

Seems my d line even though rated higher than opponents cannot get off blocks and can only cover for so long. Any suggestions? Help appreciated

Basically since they had that one patch that changed all the coaching adjustments, its very hard to get off blocks, for pass rush and when trying to stop the run as well. Even if you have a 95 guy going against an 85 olineman. High bks, strength, etc, doesnt really matter much if you ask me

I think we are used to the days when you could find gems who just out play their ranking. This year, overall seems to matter more than ever. My D was dogshit until i basically upgraded my entire secondary (95 Woodson, 94 Lott, 93 E Reed, etc) and now because of better coverage my d-line gets a few sacks. Just a theory but it worked for me.

 Thanks for the tip!

This helps a ton, also try changing your playbook. I have been getting a LOT of pressure with Bruce Smith / Dareus / Randle / Too Tall with nothing but stock plays. I spent a lot on my Dline before and had a different playbook and got NOTHING so it's really a crap shoot this year.

Clicking the right stick makes the spy rush?

It makes the closest player rush if there is no spy. So if the qb rolls out and you have a hard flat, and click R3, that hard flat will rush the qb. If you have a spy, one click sends the spy, two clicks sends the spy then the next closest defender. If you send the spy too early he can get caught in the line or he can get outrun, so you then send the next defender.

You gotta set up your dlineman and linebackers in optimal angles to open holes for other dlineman or blitzing LB's.

Thanks for all the responses. I might switch back to 3-4 but have to change my players again. Ughh

I totally agree. Every time I go 4-3 I get destroyed against the run ( have no no clue how to set it up properly so I gave up lol).  3-4 beefed up blockshed dudes with physical front seems to be key.

Physical Front?

Use that PF chem. IMO nothing else matters esp for the front 4

I gave players that have high blockshedding but can't get off the blocks by pressing the buttons it says to press above their heads.  I don't get it.

I fully invested in my D-Line thinking it would be the foundation of great defensive success with my 4-3 with my front line being:

94 RE John Abraham 95 DT John Randle 93 DT Aaron Donald 93 LE Bo Jackson

This front 4 cannot shed blocks to save their lives. They get destroyed on most cheese run plays like HB Whamy or certain variations of HB Power O. I have to send the cpu to blitz Ray Lewis or Derrick Brooks to stop the run and I user the other.

Even when I user any one of them, It's a guaranteed 2 reds before I get a green for a blockshed.

Blockshed rating seems to matter a lot. Try players with higher blockshed and see if that changes things.
