Has anyone had luck using players out of position on defense I.E. DE at DT in 4-3, or a rushing LB at DE in 4-3. If so, what is your best method of going about doing this? What players or have worked the best OOP.
I just played against someone who had Barr OOP at LE and he smoked my 87 PU Gilbert at RT. He constantly go pressure not matter if I was stepping up in the pocket, dropping back, or trying to roll out. I do not run a 3-4 and have some LBs that could make the switch to DE.
Thanks!
Yep all the time, best way to use them is the specialist spots but they only show for nickle/dime formations (no OOP penalty I can notice) LE Hendricks DT Mack DT Vea RE Clowney Vea is such a huge body always takes on 2 lineman, which always leaves one of these guys 1 on 1 Mack, Clowney, & Hendricks someone is getting through
I run jags 4-3 git 4-6 speed dollar and other cool formations
at base 4-3 run le bosa re watt rolb telvin, mlb Myles jack, lolb barr
Nickel dime dollar move watt to dt and Suggs at re
I u overloaded with good pash rushing olb with good speed(>70) and good blockshrd and power/ finesse moves def put them at the end positions in passing downs/formations. Put your slower ends at dt
if they run u may give up some yards but the speed and blockshed should stop it. Be selective and start in obvious passing situations and see how things go
I run a lot of nickel, and have had great success using the high strength DEs at DT (Garrett/Chubb) and pass rushing LBs at DE (Von Miller/Suggs)
