The questing is how you guys best navigate picking plays?
Offence - I do everything through Concept. and cycle the type of plays I want.. Yes, like everyone, I have my favorite 8-9 plays but I can quickly navigate from quick pass slants and posts to medium levels or the Y-Sail then to Deep Pass for something like Verticals. I also try new plays quite often based on down and distance rather than spam, rinse and repeat. The fear I have is am I limiting myself with out formation focus and just running through concept. It may not sound like a legit question to the average guy.. but I'm wondering how the experts select and look for plays. I'm just trying to improve.
Defense - I am the first to admit that I role with coaches suggestions tab (far to often for my liking) to cycle through a limited selection that I often am disappointed in my options. I often find that I get frustrated with the time to select too. I can never find what I really want. I role Formations in D when I can but I tend to get annoyed that I have to adjust from 4-3, 4-4 to Nickle more than I really want. This is really where I need to get the base D and stick with it and just change from play in the base. So not sure what formation should be the base.. I keep seeing where people suggest 3-4 but I never run it.
