The MCS tournament results for the past 3 to 4 years would lean towards video game. The winners exploit specific weaknesses in the game. They have great stick skills, knowledge of their opponent and a little luck while using a very limited set of offensive and defensive plays.
However, if you are good at reading defenses, setting audibles and substituting the right players in the right plays, MUT can be a reasonable football simulator. Derwin James may be the best example of that when he played a series of games in Madden 22. I believe he went undefeated.
