My theory is they do it on purpose, so people that know the glitches are coming can take advantage (kinda like the actual stock market) and occasionally the little guy wins one. It happens so often now it doesn't seem accidental at this point.
But unlike the stock market where insider trading can be subject to jail time and treble damages in MUT these indiscretions are glorified as being lucky at the right place at the right time. Anytime you have a glitch like this it should be subject to a clawback.
