Same, I have refused to join the dark side and am still trying to play actual football with my team. However, I can't say I blame the people who give up and resort to the cheesy tactics that this game allows. When playing H2H, I feel like at least 50% of my passes get intercepted no matter how open my targets are when throwing the ball. That's if I even get a chance to throw the ball. I have a great O-line, but still rarely have enough time for my routes to develop and that's if I'm not instantly sacked with the broken blitz BS that will often just penetrate my O-line like a hot knife through butter. All of those issues pretty much leave just running the ball. All it takes is 3.5 yards per carry to be successful.
This is my first time playing MUT since 15. I had an insane team in 25 and stuck with it until the end. I lost interest in 15 just after the Super Bowl. Fast-forward to now, eight years later, I decided to give this one a shot once it became free on Game Pass just to see how far the game has come. I was pretty impressed with the graphics, but the rest has been a rude awakening. I'm not a fan of the abilities and stats don't really seem to matter once they reach the mid 90s. H2H isn't fun at all. I'm typically an average player and I used to hold my own by playing smart. Ten years ago, games would usually play out like actual football games with multiple lead changes and drives building upon small gains just waiting for that big play. I won many games by punting on 4th down when on my side of the field and trusting in my defense and making my opponent regret it when they didn't punt. In M23, nobody punts. I think I have seen one person punt out of maybe like 30 H2H games. Now, everyone just goes for it no matter the distance and will choose some cheesy play and usually get it. When they don't, they just quit. This playerbase is the most toxic I have ever seen.
