I don't know what you're babbling about now, but the game doesn't call timeouts when it's down by more than 17. So...there's that.
But that also wasn't what you were initially winning about. You were whining about how they come out in a regular defense when you put on 1st down. They'd almost certainly come out in base defense on 1st down on your own 1 no matter what formation you came out in.

You can't beat the CPU, you need to punt the ball on 1st down and then try it several more times just so you can complain about it? Yes most teams IRL would run QB sneak to avoid a negative play or in this case a blocked punt. But this is Madden where nothing is realistic and a loss of yards on a QB sneak is common and a punt block is very uncommon. So you made the right call. Not sure why it matters what formation the CPU lines up in though.
