Most of the advantages are actually in rapid preplay adjustments. For those of us with lots of adjustments who are extremely fast it can be possible to do it so fast where the game does not pick up the adjustment, which screws up your defense.
I have a PS4 Pro with Sata III and installed a Samsung 860 pro; so I do not have the above problem. Everything is extremely smooth for me.
Pop the case, remove existing HDD, install SDD. Download ps4 boot files onto a usb stick from a computer. Insert stick into ps4 and turn on. Follow onscreen instructions.
