New Route Running Ability Chemistry Types Explained

As part of today's title update, EA Sports rolled out three new ability chemistry types that alter a receiver's hot route tree. Wide Receivers and Tight Ends can have all three new chemistry types. Halfbacks can only get Elite Route Specialist. The requirements are as follows:

  • Elite Route Specialist (900 training) - 90 AWR (95 AWR for HBs) and 90 OVR
  • Short Route Specialist (800 training) - 90 SRR
  • Deep Route Specialist (850 training) - 90 DRR

Here is a summary of what routes change in the hot route tree for each chemistry type. Routes are linked to screenshots when available.

Elite Route Specialist

Outside WR

Tight End

Halfback

Short Route Specialist

Tight End

Deep Route Specialist

When testing this, we discovered that a player's natural position does not matter. All that matters is where he is lined up. For example, if a TE is motioned outside, he will get outside WR hot routes. If a WR is packaged in at a TE slot, he will get TE hot routes.
