We should know the fate of Hill today. I'm expecting a 2 game suspension. Highest I think will happen is 4.
Even with Hill, I don't think Chiefs are making it back to the playoffs. There will definitely be regression in Mahomes' play (you could also blame the Madden cover curse lol). Except for Tyrann Mathieu/Frank Clark, they mostly lost players. Their secondary still looks like it can get destroyed easily.
You think they'd regress THAT badly tho? I don't think Mahomes is gonna put up 50+ TDs back to back but I can see mid 30s or even 40s and that still being enough scoring output to win a lot of games.
I like the two-three mini dynasty description honestly. The Pats have been to the SB 9 times since 2000:
1998- Lost 35-21 to Packers (Non Belichick/Brady)
2001- Won 20-17 over Rams 2003- Won 32-29 over Panthers 2004- Won 24-21 over Eagles 2007- Lost 17-14 to Giants 2011- Lost 21-17 to Giants 2014- Won 28-24 over Seahawks 2016- Won 34-28 over Falcons 2017- Lost 41-33 to Eagles 2018- vs. Rams
So their longest drought without a SB appearance in the Brady/Belichick era was 4 years between 2007 and 2011. Won 3 of 4 in the early years and 3 of 5 in the late years (with a 4th appearance in 5 years). Their back to back losses before and after their SB drought hurts because it was a span of missed SB appearances combined with two SB losses.
8 AFC Championship games in a row... 13 overall since Brady/Belichick. These guys practically live in the playoffs. It's impressive for sure.. but it's also the result of a weak division and usual first round bye that helps keep them fresh for the beginning of the playoffs.
The fact that people are saying the Patriots didn't earn their six SB rings pisses me off. I bet if I said that about the Steelers, people would start sending me death threats, so why is it okay to rag on MY favorite team?
Ignore it. It’s a coping mechanism.
Most fans that aren’t delusional and love the game of football itself respect the Pats dynasty for what it is.
I can't figure out why Pats fans don't own it and tell anyone that whines to p!$$ off?
Own something that isn't true? No thank you. Brady didn't cheat, end of story.
I hope all major plays become reviewable. I dont think I it'd add much time to games. We dont see every reviewable play being reviewed now so why would that change. Things like PI or roughing the passer are such game altering plays and need to be reviewable in my mind.
Also just want to be clear, the title says 2019 for a reason. This rule has not been permanently put in place. It will literally "expire" at the end of the year. If it works out then they'll vote again and permanently add it. If it doesn't do anything then after the 2019 season itll be gone.
As a Pats fan, you really want them to review roughing the passer? Haha most of the ones against Brady are BS
Adding the rule now does nothing to the years and years of success that a lack of review has given us so I say bring it on.
